How to setup Orbi wifi system to work with Fios?

Fios is an advanced network technology that works on fiber-optic networks to deliver ultra-fast and reliable internet services. If you want to setup your Orbi system to work with Fios, then first setup your router to an Access point (AP). To do this,

  • Turn off the wireless network of the Verizon Fios.
  • Set the Orbi router in Access point mode.

Let’s see these steps briefly below.

To turn off the wireless network of the Verizon Fios:

  • First, open any web browser on your device that should be connected to your Verizon Fios router.
  • In the URL bar, type 192.168.1.1 and hit the Enter button.
  • Now, you will be directed to the login page.
  • Type the username and password in the blank field after submitting the main page displays.
    Note: If you first-time login to your Fios router, you are asked to create a new username and password.
  • Once your login credentials are verified, then the main page will display.
  • On the main page, go to the wireless settings and then tap on the Basic Security settings.
  • Here, you find the wireless settings. Turn off the wireless settings.
  • After this, move to the end of the page and click on the Apply button.

To setup the Orbi router in Access point mode:

  • Connect your Orbi router to the Verizon Fios router by using an Ethernet cable cord.
  • Plug the one end of the Ethernet cable in the internet port and another end on the LAN port of the Verizon Fios router.
  • Open any browser on your device that is connected to the Orbi network.
  • Enter orbilogin.com in the URL bar.
  • On the Login page, enter the username and password of your Orbi router.

Note: If you have not changed the default settings of your router, then type admin in the User ID and password in the password box.

  • Once done, a Basic home will open.
  • Go to the Advanced settings.
  • Under the Advanced settings, select Advanced Setup and then Router/AP Mode.
  • Here, the Router/AP Mode page will open.
  • Choose the AP Mode check box.
  • After, you have to select the IP settings for your Orbi router.
  • Static IP address: If you select static IP, then you have to assign the IP address manually while your Orbi is in the access point mode.
  • Dynamic IP address: If you select dynamic IP, then the Verizon Fios router will automatically assign the IP address while the Orbi is in AP mode.

Note: In order to avoid interference with other routers or gateways, we suggest that use the different wi-fi settings on each router.

  • At last, click the Apply
  • Now, your IP address of the router changes.

To connect the connectivity again, close and restart your browser and enter orbilogin.com or orbilogin.net
